Over $170,000 For Conservation

The 3rd annual statewide dinner was held in Greenville, NC on October 14, 2004 raising over $170,000 for waterfowl/wetland conservation as well as youth outdoor education. This was made possible by live auctions, silent auctions, US and International hunting/fishing trips and raffles. There were approximately 900 people that attended the event, many of which will become new members.

This excellent and success fundraiser would not have been possible without the generous volunteer work by the Statewide Banquet Committee headed up by Mike Johnson who was last year’s NCWA Founding Volunteer Award winner. In addition to the hard work provided by these ladies and gentlemen there were also donations from local businesses. A welcomed attraction to this event was past President George Bush’s boat, Fidelity III.
Thanks to all who attended this grand event. Your continued support will help grow NCWA, which will enable us to pass on North Carolina’s waterfowl heritage. See you next year.
