Wood Duck Production Project

Volunteer Program

NCWA’s Volunteer Wood Duck Project is dedicated to the enhancement of the wood duck population in North Carolina by distributing nest box units to all persons meeting the program guidelines. NCWA will provide all of the necessary tools for the landowner to properly check the nest boxes. Each landowner will receive data sheets, maps, handbook training, project information, as well as a copy of the monitoring procedures manual.

Once the data has been collected and sent in NCWA will process this data and it will be released in the upcoming issue of Waterfowl and Wetlands.

General Fees:

  • $10.00 Guard
  • $10.00 Post
  • $30.00 Box
  • $30.00 Installation fee per box
    $80.00 Total Unit Price installed

REGULAR MEMBERSHIP:
Membership Fee - $25.00
Nest Box Fees

  • Regular fees as outlined above for additional nest boxes, posts or predator guards
  • Volunteer Handbook Included

SPONSOR MEMBERSHIP:
Membership Fee - $250.00

HUNT CLUB MEMBERSHIP:

Nest Box Fees

  • 4 boxes per year, up to 3 years; total of 12 nest boxes; habitat permitting.
  • Land can be in Club's name, non-member' name, or sponsor' name.
  • Volunteer Handbook Included

CORPORATE SPONSOR MEMBERSHIP:
Minimum Membership Fee - $500.00

  • Number of boxes installed dependent on habitat availability/suitability.
  • $100.00 per unit installed
  • $20.00 maintenance fee per box.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP:
Membership Fee - $5000.00

  • One $5,000.00 payment
  • Five $1000.00 over five years
  • 10 $500.00 for 10 years.
  • 10 nest boxes installed
  • Volunteer Handbook Included
